I studied my University in Penang, the beautiful and peaceful island as big as Singapore at the North of Peninsular Malaysia.
The last time i went back was 2 years ago.
This time, the main purpose was to attend to Teong Yeong and Hui Jun's wedding banquet and also to meet my coursemate. Anything else was just bonus.
My special thanks to Dr. Wang Shir Li (oop! not now, but soon. :), for keeping me company for daysssss and been the free driver.
Batu Feringghi Beach.
(Thanks Teong Yeong for provided free accommodation to us.:)
The beautiful wet market at Georgetown. It doesn't smell good though. :P
The newly restored "Yap" temple.
This is how big a "roti tissue" can be. (Model: 3 Golds)
Tropical Spice Garden, Teluk Bahang.
An interesting place to visit with many spices, herbs, lovely cafe and museum.
Admission is RM 13 and do bring your own insect repellent.
National Park of Penang, Muka Head.
The trek is the coastal hill and along the sea shore.
Button Shell.
They are abundant at the coastline.
It is said that, no two shells are identical.
Part of the trek might not be easy thought: Climbing up and down.
(Model: Shir Li & Lek Keong)
From the entrance of National Park, it takes around 1.5 hours to reach Monkey Beach.
It takes another half and hour of staircase climbing to get to the lighthouse and enjoy this view.
The lighthouse open from 8am until 1pm (if i remember correctly).
If you are too tired to go back by the same trek, then you can take a boat from Monkey Beach to go back to the entrance of the national park. It costs around RM 50 one trip for a boat. But of course it all depends on your bargaining skill. ;)
